The city of Bhaktpur is the third in the valley after Kathmandu and Patan. It is called “city of devotion” as the religious character is predominant. We can guide you throughout the visit of this city which is about twenty kilometers from the capital and whose area is 385 square kilometers.
As a Newar city, following the example of Patan, it is renowned for the finesse of its arts, paintings, sculptures, masonry and pottery. You will be able to easily realize the Newars craftsmanship by walking the various shopping streets of the city.
Otherwise, its cultural side is still alive and we can admire the traditional Newar dances or the great festival of colors, when at the end of the dry season, we celebrate the arrival of the rains that are needed for crops! People have fun with friends to swing colorful water balloons, or multicolored powders! The mixture of water and powder gives a sad result at the end of the day!
Do not miss it if you are in the area at this time.
